Congrats on getting your first deer with a flinter. (I now have to wait til next year to try again ... sigh) And a nice doe at 140 pounds is nice indeed! A nice doe down here on the coast would be about 90 pounds.
 
I am happy for you. That’s a very good feeling summed up in your photo here. You are in good company, there’s no shame in missing. For a lot of flintlock hunters, we see a ton of high tails through clouds of smoke before we finally put a tag on one.
 
Congrats! Well done. That grass is awfully green for PA in January…haha. Been awhile since we’ve had winter as mild as this one has started.
