Hi guys

I turned 16 a few days ago and just got my hunting license here in florida. I already got my first kill with a flintlock. It's an indian made 1777 charleville shooting patched .65 roundballs i casted myself.

I was walking down a trail on this public land in the evening, maybe around 4 pm when I saw 4 or 5 little piglets crossing the trail. I kneeled and when one of em turned broadside I squeezed the trigger at about 40 yards. Hit it in the brain. Now that I look back I probably should have waited to see if mama pig would come out but im still happy.

Great thing you did with your flintlock! Proud of you for sure.

Nice one, there is a seasoning at Bass Pro called Pigs Ass Rub!! I’m in South Florida and swear it’s the best seasoning for these porkers. It even makes the big ones very tasty so you can bet what a flavor you will get on that Perfect Piggie! Also very nice to see a young guy being involved in this wonderful sport!!! Way to go man! Flintlocks defeated armies and brought home the meat for many years and are loads of fun. I got into muzzle loaders at your age back in the sixties. I still love them but nowhere to shoot them in my part of Texas.

yes you can! ill roast it whole next week. ive eaten wild hog before and it tastes great
