I bought a stock,L&R lock and trigger and barrel.I read a lot of literature, did my homework, asked lots of questions, read, and read, and read, and read.I started the build, which I think I can handle. But let me tell you I have a whole new respect for you fellas that build these muzzle loaders.I can definatly appreciate the art of building these guns its certainly not as easy as it looks.Thumbs up to the M/L builders!!! :hatsoff: I enjoy lookin at any of these fine pieces of art!

Gun stock from gunstocks plus, not inlet, only barrel channel cut in and he drilled the ramrod hole for me,which I appreciate.L&R english lock,L&R double set hawkin trigger.Did not buy all the furniture yet.I set out to build a Hawkin however I found out a hawkin is a hard build because of the bolts through the grip of the stock through the trigger guard. So through advice I sent the hawkin trigger back and decided to build a vincent or some other halfstock M/L.I'm not given up by a long shot just changin direction a bit.Appreciate any help and advice given.

GO FOR IT. :hatsoff:
You will learn alot from this first project.
Don't expect to be pefect the first time.
Have fun and remember it's a "one of a kind"
Once you have built a thosand or two..
Collectors will be offering you big bucks for the first one...

It started out to be a hawkin....not sure what its gonna end up!I'm gonna take my time though make it nice!I hope.

Sounds like you have the right attitude...take your time and above all, plan ahead. Think about the results of your next move before you do it. Imagine building the whole thing in your head first. And don't get anxious when you get close to finishing and rush it...rookie mistake

Keep in mind, it's supposed to be fun, and you're building something to last generations.
And I'm sure you've already learned that you have an incredible resourse here with a lot of folks eager to give advise and help you along. :)

I've learned more here in 6 months than I did in 2or 3 yrs on my own.Lots of people willing to help out a fella with a problem. Thats a great resource to have.I appreciate it and am glad I'm a member!
