Finally got my 36 cal the other day. Want to shoot it. Only problem is it won’t set the caps off. Have to hit them 3 or 4 times. Already made sure the hammer is hitting them properly. Almost think the nipple is a little too big.

most likely over size or weak main spring. if nipple is too large you are hammering them down each try until they are seated. . if you have a drill press or even a drill motor you can sand or file [ fine tooth] down a little at a time until the cap seats as it should.
