Does anyone know how to remove the nipple drum from barrel? I want to convert this percussion rifle to flintlock without causing too much damage. It doesn't seem to unscrew, though I can turn it slightly back and forth. Apparently no flintlock locks are available for direct fit, so if anyone has one to sell it would save me from having one made. Any help is much appreciated.

I got one of those rifles in percussion, first BP rifle I bought when I were 16 year old. Mine has a patent breech. Have to remove the whole breech plug.

I seen a flint Kentuckian posted for sale on this very forum a few weeks ago. Don’t know if it’s still available though.

Thanks Farmer.
I suspected that the nipple drum was somehow involved with the breech plug. I'll remove the plug and check it out!
