Has anyone been following the series on early English locks in Classic Arms and Militaria Journal? A really fine article starting with the snaphaunce and ending just before the French lock took over. Best of all are detailed photographs of the inner workings of these robust locks. All in all a valuable asset and a good read.

It's an English magazine. Barnes and Noble has it. Beautifully done with articles on firearms, swords, battle weapons and armor of most any description--from the earlier days. Just the thing for folks like us. Nary an M-16 or Ak-47 to be found within its pages!

RTF,
Hmmmmnnnn. I haven't even got my July/August issue of Muzzleloader Magazine yet.

I do recall hearing that the postal service can be a little slow down there. How's the drinking water? Dan

RTF,
We have water purification plants all over the place. Everyone buys there water, except in the Racquet Club, a gated community, they have their own water plant.
I have a private mail service from Laredo, Tx. It is pretty fast. I think I re-upped a little late and didn't get this issue. If I request it here in a few days they will send me one.

I haven't been in Mexico for nigh on 40 years now and the water situation was more uncertain then. By drinking beer and mescal, one got safely around the problem, though remembering the trip and even one's name was a bit problematic. Had a lot of fun though--I think. :rotf:
