Now here is what an actual short land musket butt plate looks like

I am going to predict that the height of the butt plate from top to bottom is about 4.75" , whereas real Besses where around 5 3/8". Also, I bet the diameter of the barrel at the breech is less than 1.25" wide. Originals are 1.31-1.41" wide. I bet there is no lug on the bottom of the barrel to support the forward sling swivel.
