Just finished a book titled Major Washington . This is one of the best books I've read in a long time. The story is told by a fictional character that was with George in the early days(1750's)through the French and Indian wars and ft. necessity. This book makes GW seem more real than any other I've ever read. Journal entries, newspapers and other documents were used to create dialog - much like Ekhart does.
. The entire book is written in the spoken format of the 1700's and based on what I have read in historical journals is very accurate in tone. The fictional character is woven into the real story of Washington prior to the Rev war in such a way that it is believable that he actually existed. I highly recommend this book to anyone still snowed in to help pass the time until the spring thaw. :redthumb: :redthumb: (that's two thumbs up!)
