Just got done watching a few minutes ago. That tree rat will not be barking anymore.
Mark our temperature was in the mid 70s here in SC yesterday, i had the AC on and it is on now. i think it is climate change, it happens every time our public servants in Washington opens their mouth, the hot air blows down south,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Nature has a way with things: as tough as he was, Old Mr. Squirrel finally fell victim to a bird of prey - a Hawk!

Why not just try to hit them outright instead of using shards of bark from a miss to get the job done? Or, just use a shotgun

I always figured it was easier to shoot them in the head than shoot so close you kill them with bark.

Great video! I’ll definitely move to throwing axes if I do some squirrel hunting.
I feed the ones in our area leftover pizza, old bread, rolls, etc.
They leave my stuff alone.

Looks like fun but that's about it. If I were able to shoot well enough to kill a squirrel with a piece of bark then I would be able to easily hit him in the head, 100% lethal and they never get away. Mark, I did enjoy your video as I always do.
