My flaky memory seens to recall a company in the USA who were making saw-handle target pistols of very high quality, back in the '60s or '70s.

It was made to be a shooter, not a looker. On ml pistol ranges one often sees a variety of strange looking pistols. Not to everyone's liking but owner did his own thang and picked his own pizzen. That is a big part of what this game is all about.
 
I disagree with most of the above. It depends on what you want. It may be a great shooter. I have an inline ML made on a Crossman Air Pistol frame. It shoots really great. I cobbled up a much better handle for it and usta shoot really well with it. By the way, USTA died and I don't shoot much any more, certainly not competition pistol... So, if you want a very inexpensive pistol to shoot and enjoy, go for it.
