I am considering purchasing a .45 cal mold (already got a .50) LEE REAL for my T/C Hawken. I only need a 100 to 125 yard deer gun. And I will hire someone to tap it for a scope. It's a 1:48 twist. "Or" I am considering purchasing another production gun if you guys think a !:32 or a !:24 twist will be superior to my 1:48???

The 45 and 50 comes in two different size REALs. I don't know what the best twist is, but REALs were made to shoot in the slower twist guns. 1-48 should be plenty good. My 50 with the 1-48 twist shot (the heavier one) real well. No pun intended.

I bought a 45 caliber mold right after they became available. I had read an article back then that said if you had a slow twist, like 1in 60 or greater, to use the lighter weight. Faster twists were to use the heavier weight. That backs up mooman76 using the heavier weight in his rifle.
My 45 rifle had a slow twist and it shot the lighter weight very accurately.
