I've read several indirect mentions of reboring a barrel from 50 to 54 cal. Does anyone know the cost? Also these mentions are always in relation to long guns. Is it feasible in a pistol? I want a 54 cal flintlock pistol I'd like a kit. The traditions 50 better fits my budget but would want it bored out to 54. The other option is a pendersoli which is available as a 54 but would need to cut dovetails to modify from pin to wedge assembly which is my personal preference. Looking for opinions on this course of action.

BPS carries Pedersoli .54 Hawken style rifles. 640 bucks.

I think that would be less expensive than buying a Tradition's piece and having it rebored.
