Well I got around toit' today! I got out and got a couple pics of the horn I made for my .62 smoothbore. It's nothing fancy as you can see but it serves the purpose. Base is maple stained with aqua fortis and sealed with bees wax held in by round wooden tooth picks.Plug is oak from a old wooden kitchen chair that had seen it's better days. Brass base plug unscrews to fill the horn. The strap wasn't made made by me,I'm not that talented  Staple was made out of a old coat hanger.

nice horn and I totally agree with the first 2 comments. time for some personalizing

Nice!
If you have a steady hand you should try to do some scrim. If you shake like i do it's best to leave it plain. I messed up several good horns before that bit of knowledge sunk in.

I really like plain undecorated horns. Some times its just best to let the natural beauty of something shine on its oun.

You guys are right it does need something....scrim :hmm: stain :idunno: I've tried my hand at scrim, what I found out was it takes alot of sanding to get rid of it. :shake: :cursing:
