I have up for your consideration an antique wooden powder/shot flask. I have had a few experts look at this and not one has ever seen anything like it. It looks to have been made from a solid piece of walnut and then the brass rings and spout were added. It was very well made and is really old. Currently using it as a decoration hanging by a very old leather strap. The base plug is removable and fits back into place nicely. It’s just likely NOT a powder horn but for descriptive purposes that’s what I’m describing it as. The patina on this is rich and will look nice hanging in your mancave. 100$ buyer pays shipping.

Interesting. Give it time, this is a busy weekend for a lot of folks.
Yes, I’ll give it a week or so. I honestly don’t need to sell it, however I had thought that if someone wanted it it’s up for offer. I’d like to see someone get it and enjoy it, ponder upon what it might be and hand it down to one of thier kids. My only son shows no interest in my stuff whatsoever… so sooner or later it’s ALL going to be sold.

Perhaps for a ships cannon primer ,Does look ' right' enough .I've two girls only one likes to shoot MLs but who knows . but I see your plight .

I actually sent it to Tim Crosby for his evaluation. He looked it over for some time and still came up with no answers, other than he’s never seen one like it and it’s made of walnut. He also said that whoever made it done a fantastic job. Tim didn’t beleive it was made to hold powder, the rings are made of copper and it has two loops, one at the base and one at the pour spout to attach a lanyard. The base also had a lanyard at one time, possibly as to not loose the base plug? Anyhow, it sure is a nice, well crafted piece sure to strike up a conversation.
