Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
Just made a new sawbuck pack saddle and want to make the wood look like its been around for a while. Any ideas on how to give the wood an aged appearance.
i use redmilk paint thinly mixed let dry go over with scotchbright pad then a thin coat of black then use lendseed oil with the pad and scrub it good.this makes a lite brownish color the black will stick in the crevasses you can use a heat gun as it dries and it will leave a crackle finish i have used this on a bunch of stuff over the years you can build up a shinner finish with more coats of oil you can also put a poly coat for a top coat your fren truck wilkins
I usually use a diluted acid (muriatic), then heat it dry with a heat gun or hairdryer. When you get it the color you want, just coat it with polyurethane to seal. SAFETY first though, wear rubber gloves...
