Bought this months ago and work load kept me from shooting all summer.Yesterday had an afternoon off and used it to shoot her.
Load was 70grs of FFg and 1 1/8oz #4 shot.A 1/8" over the powder card was used along with 1/2"felt lubed with Bear oil and thin over shot card.
She had no front sight.I made one but see why none was on.I sighted with the very end of barrel and still was 6-8" low.Tried thumb on top of barrel but that was WAY high.
Tried shooting a large steel coffee can.The #4's at 20yds went thru one side and dented but not thru back of can.Pellets (about 15) in bottom of can. Some did make it thru about 1/3.
I hunt squirrel and hoping its enought to 25yds without dropping back to 1 oz shot.Gotta remember to keep both eyes open and go a little high!

Very nice fowling piece...I'm in love with any and all flintlock fowling guns...17ga? Didn't know such a gauge existed. Where did you get it from?
