Thanks Thad.
so far i have had to chop 6 inches off the barrel when the stop failed and i milled a nifty hole through to the bore, then had a tang break so replaced that. Then had a end mill go wonky while making a recess for the tang screw and ruined another tang. 3rd plug and tang was the charm.
took 4 pours to get the nose cap right.
good thing i am building it for a real dummy!:ghostly:

Well, I like the lines, hope it will make a good shooter for you.

Loaded four rounds of FF in a pistol, at 20 ft I made two figure eights right in a 2 in bullseye.

Planning on using some rubbing alcohol for the first time, due to advice from one our brothers here on the muzzleloaders, to after I've cleaned the gun with hot water and dried it out and applied a bit of oil I'll use the rubbing alcohol.

Finished the Buffalo powder horn and made a sturdy range rod too. So my granddaughter is all fixed up now. I had ordered a 7/16” Delrin rod from TOW and had previously measured it and cut it to length. Was going to turn a handle on the lathe but I had a section of good hickory from an old hammer so I used that, should fit her hand well. Pinned and peen both ends.

Test fit my homemade percussion caps on new CVA nipples. They fit nicely. These are empty caps, as I haven't loaded them with Prime-all yet. I will be loading them for testing soon. My cap maker cost about 50 cents.

got back from the DR. other than test showing i had a heart attack last friday i am fit to recycle.
wife not happy with me. didn't tell her. seems that was a mistake?
anyway i finished inletting the stars on the cherry build. 3 fit like they grew there and one needed some fixing. little glue and dust and it looks good. 75 percent doesn't please me but guess thats my new nickname.

well, after 54 years of wedded bliss, i learned today that i am a heartless, thoughtless, lower than dirt, worthless worm!
I won't post what i was called when i quipped, "if i am heartless, what is all the fuss about?"
i did learn that it is a scientific fact that men are sub human.
i really have to plead guilty as charged. this woman has physically saved my life 3 times in the last 54 years. She says she is so mad because she can't save from this. jeepers, it was just a little one!
came home and the garage was the safety zone so i worked some more on the cherry build.
gonna be a long night. dang Dr's big mouth.
