, i will see if she takes to it. it is in walnut with a real natural Tung oil finish. i love maple but thought i would do one a little different and not a polymerized finish, but natural. what do ya'll think?

Nice work I like it!

That Tung oil really made that wood “pop”. It’s really nice, everything about it.

Terrible! I'll volunteer to take one for the team so, box that thing up and send it to me before you embarrass yourself.

In all honesty, I think your rifle looks fabulous. You did a great job on that walnut stock!

Did you have any problems with the rear screw on the toe plate hitting the lower butt plate screw?
LOL. you sound like you were watching me! yes, i usually do. this is my 6th Kibler SMR i have done, and they always get in the way. i simply take a couple of threads off the back screw. it causes no problems at all,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I just put a toe plate on a walnut stock as well. I never gave that lower butt plate screw a thought. What I thought was a simple task turned into a project. I ended up taking a couple of threads off too, plus figuring out how to get the screw to bite after wallowing out the hole. All's good now, but it's never going to be removed again!

the oil i used is some i have used for years on military walnut wood. it is from the "real milk paint company" online. it is real pure oil, not the so called tung oil from lowes/hardware store. it is also called China wood oil. this one was 50/50 thin citrus oil and tung oil mix. the citrus oil carries the oil deep into the wood. it is food grade with no chemicals, and it smells great!
