I know nothing about the 2nd and 3rd generation Colts. But when I saw the original posted photos, my mind said 4 screw 1860 Army like my original one.

I gave all my BP stuff to my son when we moved 8 years ago. It has been MUCH more expensive to replace it all in the last 4 or 5 months. Unless you really need the cash, just hang on to them. Your interest might reignite.

Colt made a 1861 Navy revolver, in 36 Cal. It looks identical to the 1860 Army except the smaller hole thru the middle of it, and it's stamped 36 on the trigger guard.
My friend's father in law has a 80% 1861 made in 1866, complete with the Colt Letter.
He let me clean it last year, i couldn't find any round balls or I could've shot it.
