Finished My Fusil

It has taken me a full year to get my fusil de chasse done. Here it is. The stock is American black walnut (J. negra) stained with Birchwood Casey's walnut stain. The entire set of parts are from Track of the Wolf, except the pins. These I made out of coat hanger wire, which is a little lighter gauge wire than the 3/32" pins that come from Track. I chose to go with the 44" 20 ga barrel. The weight of the finished fusil is 7 lbs. This is the second gun building project I have attempted.

I will submit a range report with photos after Thanksgiving when I have time to get out to the range.

Looks great, Cruzatte! I bet it will be a beauty in the woods, too.

Good job. She looks like she has nice lines. I can't see much detail and I'm not sure if it is the photo quality, the old phone screen I'm viewing, or my rapidly deteriorating reading distance eyesight, that is the reason.
I look forward to reading your range report and maybe some more pictures. (I'll try to view them on my laptop computer)

I apologize for the less than first quality photos. My excuse is I was so excited about having the finished gun, I just had to post what photos I had. I'll post some better ones with outdoor light and closeups when I get out to the range. Thanks for all the kind words.

Hi Cruzatte,
Take photos outside on a hazy or cloudy day rather than a bright sunny one. The camera will adjust the exposure and you won't have glare off the metal and any shiny areas.
