Well NOW I know your pullin' my leg.

No one would ever take a shower in a hunting camp, even if they got sprayed by a half dozen skunks!

It ain't natural and even if it was, a guy would freeze to death before he got dry.

I'm not sure why you have selected me to aim your comments to. My original comment was to those who look for reasons why not to do those things which keep the sport safe. If that doesn't include you, then my remarks were not aimed at you. It sounds to me as if you take all precautions to keep the sport safe so we have no differences.

"How does a hammerstall make a gun more safe if the frizzen is open and the hammer is down?"

I believe your comment refers to a posting of mine on an earlier thread. I never owned a 'stall until last year. I would not use it while hunting, that's just me. I bought it for use in the truck, since I lay the charged rifle on the back seat (with a coat over it), or on the (carpeted) floor, and the thought occurred that the rifle could bounce around - as in a collision - sufficient to close the frizzen and set the cock, then release it. Admittedly, a remote possibility, but an excuse to buy a 'stall.

I have since tried the toothpick in the vent, and may try the leather or tape as well.

I am not afraid of my guns, I just don't like loud noises in confined spaces.
