From what I am gathering a Fusil Fin was an early type that extra detail was put in furnishings and the stock detail making it more of a presentation piece. That being said do you think the maker could have put his own personal touches on it while it was being made in the factory?
 
Looks like Tom has you covered you won't find a better source on French guns.
