Finishing the Woodrunner stock and I have a spot that is darker than I want. Used iron nitrate, one coat, heated, then one coat of permalyn sealer. The heel, where a toe plate would go, is dark and I want to lighten it slightly to show the grain better. Seems it is more of an end gain than the sides.

The Colonial I finished did not get as dark. I know that different stocks will finish differently every time.

If I understand right I can rub it with steel wool or an abrasive pad. My preference is the pad.

Suggestions from the audience???

Don
