Newbie. I'm m,ostly a trad archery guy but got a couple good deal on some smoke poles an it made rembmer of the fun i had with one when i was a kid. it's been a long time since I have played with black powder, but the other day a friend of mine picked up an old rifle at an auction for 50. When he told me I assumed the bbl would be rusted to death, but surprisingly the bbl was perfect except for a tab bit of rust in the breech, which came out with alittle love. No pits no nothing the bbl is imaculate. I will take it to a local shop to have it better looked at for shootability and safety.

For now can some one tell me a little something about this rifle?

it is a .45 cal and on the bbl is marked "MFG for ultra-hi by Miroku Japan" and what looks like a serial #7960 and is aprox 46" long.

thanx, Jeff S.

Welcome.

What you got there is the equivalent of a Shakespeare fiberglass bow from the early 60's. Serviceable, but rough and inexpensive. If it shoots well it is worth shooting, but no one is going to beat down your door to snatch it away from you. The two piece, sleeved stock does not draw raves from collectors.
