Wad Lube Recipe

there are as many formulas for lube as there are shooters.
A typical one is made with oil expressed from the rind of kumquats that have been picked in the dark of the moon, by a blue eyed, blonde, forty year old virgin, wearing a red bikini with a D cup top.
This oil is mixed with tallow rendered from the fat of a Siberian musk ox, stirred with a proper solid coin silver spoon. Incantations are not necessary, nice, but not necessary.
OR

Melt together one ounce of unsalted lard with four ounces of common canning paraffin wax from your local grocery store.

Hard to beat bee’s wax and olive oil. Easy to customize for ambient temperatures, too. Toss in some canning paraffin (surf board wax) if you have some handy.

I use 50% beeswax, 40% olive oil, and 10% Ballistol. Works well as a wad lube and a bullet lube.

I have been using Bore butter melted in the microwave, mixed in with the wads until saturated. Handles easy, wads soak it up well, easy clean up. I tried TOTW mink oil/patch lube, mixing up the first batch last night. It is much stiffer, solidifies much quicker making it much more difficult to appropriatly mix the lube with the wads. I probably will get more BB just for that.
