Help find a.lube recipe

A couple ago months someone posted a lube recipe. I tried it and it works well but now I would like to make more and can't find the recipe. The only thing I can remember the finished product has the consistency of peanut butter. If someone out there knows what the recipe is I would appreciate having a copy.

The "recipe" you're asking for isn't cut and dried. Basically, it's just beeswax plus any animal or vegetable oil you want to mix in. More beeswax = stiffer and more solid, less beeswax the opposite. The oil you use also has its own effect on how stiff and solid in cold weather or in warm weather. Experiment and have fun. Don't look for a specific recipe. There are a thousand recipes and they all work. Come up with your own for your own needs and your own local weather when shooting. Your "peanut butter" consistency goal lacks specifics as to when, where and under what ambient conditions. You can only discover that by trial and error. There isn't any one "recipe" that meets that goal at all times and under all conditions.

If you add soap to the melted fat it becomes more like peanut butter an the melting point becomes more gradual.

I use this kind of thing with BP revolvers. I would not use it for patches at the range. I use moose milk for that.

Lubes are extremely non critical. Try not to over think it.

Sorry, but IMO most of those recipes in that linked thread are over-thought.
