After rapidly exiting what was possibly the worse gun show in 5+ decades, I decided to check in at the Gun Works in Springfield Oregon. Place is absolutely packed and selection is more than can be imagined. Pics don't do it justice and strongly suggest you see it in person . If you need a ML 'fix" this is the place to get it. BTW the height of the show I abandoned was partially due to the one vendor offering live flying squirrels for sale.

Thanks for this. I've never been there, but I've only heard positive reports concerning the Gun Works. If I can ever get up that way again, I'd love to pay 'em a visit.

Judging from the photos, it appears they have more guns in stock than they list on their website. One could spend a lot of time there...

Place is absolutely packed. Much more than i can show, The have a good supply of various kits and the parts bins are full.

Previously (At the "dismal swamp" show) the sight of the critters swarming loose all over the owner was disturbing. Escaping in the hall would be a disaster. They were , however, actually one of the more interesting sights as the food, crafts and other BS were 90% of the offerings. Considered asking for a refund but promoter looked depressed enough.

BTW the folks at gun works remarked similar bad shows were good for business. Many left show to visit the "works".

During the months long task to totally rebuilding my "frankenflinter" long rifle they went out of their way to help. They took the time to help match parts to the bare stripped stock and barrel i started with. Took them many trips to the warehouse and back but did it gracefully and without complaint. Heres the result Beginning to end.

I first met Joe and Suzi maybe 45 or so years ago at the Jed Smith Rendezvous in Merlin, Oregon, and have been in their candy store many times, more than once leaving rich in artifacts and poor in pocketbook. Glad it is still a thing. 😄

Yup, Bill, my dear old friend Joe Evans and I used to haunt the place, in fact, we were in there buying up a load of ROA nipples for me to take back to UK just a couple of months before he died. The much-missed Joe and his amazing missus, Suzi, made buying anything there into a special occasion, and right up until our last visit in 2018 it was must-see place. There is nothing else like it on the West Coast, nor, I suspect, anywhere else, in such a small store.

I could quite happily go in a millionaire and come out a pauper - I just wish it were possible...

I'd like to have a live flying squirrel. I wish they sold cool stuff like that at gun shows around here. I'm tired of all the scented candles and fake jewelry
Guess the 2 tables full of unrecognizable homemade candy and the crocheted/knitted stuff by someones granma would not interest you either. Almost Made me miss the crackle of the tasers.
