I took 00 Steel Wool and some WD-40 and scrubbed the Dickens out of the Bore and it shined up real nice. Took awhile to get the hard Powder residue out of the Drum and Patent Breech but it cleaned up nice. Shot it today with the recommended 80grs of 2F but I only had .530 balls and used .022 Patching . At 25 yds. it done pretty dang good !! Going to try some shot in it when I get the correct Wads. A happy camper but not happy about the thing being loaded....

A year or so ago I bought a T/C .45 cal Hawken off Gunbroker from a less than candid seller. When the gun arrived I was disappointed. However, through the help of many on this board, I set about the task of seeing exactly what I had, and then how to correct it. The bobber light was invaluable. As bad as everything first appeared, the gun cleaned up quite nicely and patterned well. By this evening it will be wearing a new buckhorn sight from the Hawken Shop....if the mail ever gets here.
