Looking for a used smoothbore in 54-cal on up to about 70 (12 ga) max. I plan to use primarily as a turkey gun but may also chase other birds, small game or even big game at close range and a round ball. Will also consider a rifled barrel that can be bored out smooth to a either 0.54 0.62. Need not be in pristine condition but should be serviceable, functional and reasonably well-kept. I intend to use it in the field, not reenactments or to impress people. A well-used Hawken in 50-54-cal would be fine. May also consider kits. Looking to spend about $400 +/-.
