Mines heavy because its 7/8 across the flats. Meant for target shooting.Michael,
Weight varies with the barrel but in .36 it is probably not going to weigh much more than 6-7#.

I'm writing this so you and all the others who don't know can figure out how to deal with PM's.
In case you haven't figured it out by now, PM stands for "Private Message". On the new forum software they call it a, "Conversation".
You can send a person a PM or Conversation by holding your cursor over the persons picture or, if they don't have a picture in their posts, just hold it over the place where their picture would be. Then, click on it to select it.
That will open a little black window and in that window you will see a "Start a Conversation". Select it, then put a title into the message name box and then write whatever you want to write in the area below it.
PM's can only be seen by the person you are sending it to and yourself. That's why they are called "Private".
To see if you have any PM's or to see if someone responded to your message look up in the right hand area of the forum screen for a icon that looks like an envelope. If it has a red number in it, it is telling you how many unread PM's you have.
To see your PM's hold your cursor over the envelope. It will show you the first couple of messages so you can select them.
If you want to see all of your messages there is a place at the bottom of the little window that lets you "Show All" of them so you can pick and choose which one you want to open.
Now, let's get back to the advertisement.
Michael,
The Blue Grouse/H & A underhammers are very flexible rifles. They will readily accept interchangeable barrels of various calibers up to an 1.25 ATF. The bolt as you are describing is one of 3 set screws that hold the barrel to the action by gripping the breech plug extension. These are easily made and are available several places. Weight varies with the barrel but in .36 it is probably not going to weigh much more than 6-7#.

Actually, the lock is part of the receiver, no fitting is requiredBarrels are a lot DIFFERENT for underhammers than side lock barrels. Barrels will be blank. A gunsmith will have to fit it to the underhammer lock. It would be much cheaper and user friendly for you to just buy a complete underhammer fifle.

Well, for whatever it's worth, either an under hammer isn't a muzzleloader, or it does have a reciever(also called an action in ye olde days)Muzzle loaders have 3 parts
LOCK - STOCK - BARREL
There is no receiver
No lock on H&A underhammer, just a mainspring/trigger guard, trigger and hammer, which is in the "receiver". that's the beauty of the H&A underhammer. It's much simpler that other muzzleloaders. Easy to fit a blank barrel to. Just screw in the plug, put it in the receiver, and drill the pin hole or set the three set screws.Muzzle loaders have 3 parts
