ghostrider i have one in .54 cal it is 25 years old and has a 1in 47 twist not the 1 in 65 like the ones now.two years ago i put a new maple stock on it it shoots mini's as good as round balls, the back action lock has a very fast lock time and has never given any trouble also my gun has a .530 bore the new ones have a .540 bore you wont regret geting one,hers a pic of mine.

I have a 50 cal that is also about 25 years old.
It has the silver furniture and it has the faster twist barrel. It has proven time to be reliable and not problems.

I was lucky, that there was a stocking dealer where I lived and he let me go through all the rifles to choose the one that I wanted. It has really nice wood.

The Tryon is last rifle I would part with.

Ghostrider-I have a Tryon in 54cal.,1 in 65 twist absolute tackdriver.The back action lock is really fast.My load is .535 rb,013 patch,65 grns. 2fg swiss..friend of mine won the Wyo. state last year with his.I have the walnut stock,nothing fancy,just a shooter.Respectfully montanadan
 
Thanks for the info. I have a chance of buying one for $395 and I know new ones cost more then that. Its a newer one with the 1-65 twist.
