Roger Renner from the Underhammer Blog Spot asked me to write an article on using and making Tapered Paper Cartridges with round balls.

So I tried to show how to make a mandrel for rolling, and get the correct bore to paper fit.

I started with larger calibers. .62 to .73 cals.

But then there were many questions about smaller calibers.

So, I rolled up a .50 cal, and could get 100 grains of 2f in it. With some tapping to settle the powder.

Then I rolled a 54 and did some testing.

All I can say is WOW!

A picture of my tests.

Not an extensive test, but shows great promise.

Why only two shots? Cause that is all I care about!

One clean bore, and one follow up.

Enjoy,
Bruce

Bruce, that does show promise, but I would think you should repeat the test several times with a clean, cold barrel just to make sure that the rifle is shooting to POA.

mazo kid, these were shot two days apart. In the article I talk about a four day test with my .73 cal.

Every bore will shoot different, you need to try some from your barrels and see how they shoot!

Good Shooting,
Bruce
