Picked up this at a sale.No names.ELG* in oval under barrel.(Belgian).Bore stamp 16.0 mics at .640.

Silver below stag nose looks to be lead.Can be scratched with finger nail.
 
What a beauty! Someone put a lot of work into that one and it sure looks like its in great shape. Looking for one with backlocks like yours myself. Congrats! J
 
Neat! The stock is very Germanic in style with that kind of carving and cheekpiece. Barrels are clearly Belgian as you note (a lot of barrels were made in Belgium).

16 bore converts to .630 in inches. Being .010 over that after a century plus is pretty darn good.

The OP's title of this thread is correct that this is an 18 gauge. 16 bore is .663".

The 16.0 stamped on these barrels is the measurement in millimeters, not gauge.

16mm = 0.630".....so the bores are about right on and probably within standards at the time. Enjoy, J.D.
