According to the latest issue of American Rifleman, the Hawken rifle has been declared the State Rifle of Missouri.
Other States with official recognition include Indiana, Tennessee, Alaska, W.Virginia, Pennsylvania, Kentucky.

Indiana-my State-The Grouseland Rifle. Percussion Muzzleloader.

I assume the other states are also muzzleloaders.

What is your offical rifle?

Kentucky rifles were called thusly because settlers took them TO Kentucky, but they were perfected in Pennsylvania; what a fine pairing! I am a fan of the York County school, but was fascinated as a kid by the Lancasters.

The American Long Rifle ought to be our national firearm. That might be a timely piece of legislation to introduce for the 2026 (250th anniversary) celebrating the 1776 signing of the Declaration.

Several nations have the AK-47 on their national flags;
East Timor
Burkino Faso
Mozambique
Zimbabwe
