I recently came into possession of a flintlock pistol I know nothing about. The side of the lock says “St. Etienne” with some other marking hard to make out. I’ve attached a couple photos, any info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I believe it is a French Gendarmerie pistol from the late 1790s but the flintcock was replaced.
