Homespun after the Civil War, to go with my "mountain shotgun" ie a shot out Enfield as described in a book on southern pouches. I made the bag from cloth dyed to a butternut uniform color to make it appear the cloth was salvaged from an old uniform. The strap is from a reproduction canteen of the era. the pillow ticked heart-shaped flap is in keeping with Southern styling. Typically small in size. I need to age it, or use it a lot to let it age naturally. Now, I just need to make a banded horn.

The hooked hoof knife was a common item used as a patch and game processing knife. This one is a modern hoof

knife blade mounted into a piece of antler and works well. Those good old boys were onto something.

👍👍 Tell you what, you could send it to me and I’ll ‘age’ it for you a couple of years, save you the trouble. I have a gun that would suit perfectly.😉
