I've got to ship 3 different muzzeloading long guns. My question is,,,,is 1/4 in plywood and 1 x4 or6 ok to make the boxes of. For you guys with Kiebler rifled what were the boxes made from?
THANKYOU VERY MUCH FOR ANY HELP

You don't really need to send them in a Kibler-style wooden box. His boxes are to protect the parts of an unassembled gun. If you're shipping complete guns, they're sturdy enough to just be shipped in cardboard boxes. Just go online and buy boxes of the appropriate size. Uline is a premier provider of shipping containers and materials.

I ship by buying a plano hardcase and cutting the end off to accommodate our longer than a modern gun rifles. I then buy a grand wardrobe box from Uhaul....it's very big and very heavy cardboard. I seperate the glue line of the box and lay it flat. Put the gun in the case and the extra bit of barrel that hangs out of the hardcase I wrap in bubble wrap. Over that I fold the big priority mail bubble mailers and tape that tight.... then wrap the box around the hardcase and tape every 8" or so. I then put a little wrap of bubble wrap on both ends before cutting and folding over the ends and taping them up. I've shipped 30-40 long guns like this with 0 damage. There is a thread titled "this is how you ship a ML" you can look it up under titles only. I'll bump it up here in a minute.
