The top is Jax Black for copper. The gun has been shot a lot.

The bottom is my first effort at Rust bluing. It will be my preferred method if I do anymore. I wish I had known how to do this 40 years ago.

Wow, that looks really good. I've been thinking of redoing my SMR because the Jan black is fading away after a couple years of heavy use. Your results are inspiring me more to rust blue it.
