I was wondering if RIT works good to pop the curl in maple?

It's all here man,, just start searching/reading.
RIT is for fabric, not decent wood, and the stuff needed for wood isn't all that expensive

I've used it to dye fletching but for wood stocks, I used aniline dyes like Behlens or TansTint.

Used it years ago, but I think they changed the make up of it. Tried it a few years ago and had to sand it off and start over to make it look good. Lots of others that can be used.

Some people use it as a base before other stains - I have some but never used it so I don't have any experience with it - try it. Try yellow or orange first then your stain of choice and let us know..

Really smart folks invented wood stain so we wouldn't have to use dye that was designed to stain clothing.
