I purcahsed a long rifle last weekend and need help figuring out what I have. The auctioner said it was a Kentucy / Virginia long gun. It has Richmond(t) 1803 stamped on the side plate and is a 7.5 on a scaleof 10 in condition. Has real nice brass work and two triggers. What I have found is that the Richmond 1803 was amde in early 1800 as a flintlock but this one uses a precussion cap. I saw where some were converted by Harper's Ferry for the war. This is all I know. I am going to take pictures soon. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
