I've bought several "T" handle brass rods off of EBAY for cheap. The "T" handle is good for ball pulling:doh: when you forget the powder. I think the brass is better for the barrel than the steel rods. Bill

Put electricians shrink tubing over your steel rod, presto you have one like the Dewey. Brass can possibly pick up grit and wear the muzzle, like a lead lap. So they say, I don't know.

The SS ones come with a brass bore guide.

Has anyone had experience with this one from Midway? Lehigh Defense Rod

Brass picks up grit and will wear the muzzle? A clean rag and some solvent will fix that. Just wipe the rod clean.

I make my own rods from 3/8 hickory. Oil finished with pinned brass thimbles, threaded for accessories. Works great.

Just curious wood doesn't pick up grit? I would think a brass range rod with a muzzle protector would be much better then a wooden rod.

Again, wipe your ramrod. Everything picks up grit, even your hands. Do you leave them dirty?
