Just bought one at a gun show. Looks pretty solid. Not sure if I want to shoot it, but would like to have sparks! Where can I find pyrite? I could do some work on a chunk. Handy with a Dremel, but lazy and like to buy a chunk. Gun is about 21 inches long. Looks like old ivory butt cap and inlay on the forearm. Will get my gun screwdrivers and clean out. The key does wind, but does not lock in place. Noticeable click from trigger but nothing else.

Also any idea of what I might have? Seems real, but the carving on the metal is a bit crude.

I looks modern good effort but not old ..pyrite's seems to be an elusive item most dosn.t but some can give good sparks but I've yet to satisfactorily get this illusive kind & I've made five of them. The jewelry crumbled sort with little bits glued to short flatted wood .might give two shots enough for a hunting rifle but be a tedium if you shot clay pidgins' and a struggle to shoot a 13 shot match . yet some demonstrate wonderfully consistent ignition. all part of the Mystery. Well got me foxed to date put it that way . Rudyard
