I am just brand new on this forum. Just acquired a wheelock. 21" OAL, seems old ivory butt cap. Ivory inlaid in the forearm. have not yet taken it apart for cleaning. I did get a key. Seems solid. Engraving is not the best, but interesting. Please give me what I may have! It looks and feels old, but don't know. Can take additional pictures if helpful.

Can you show pictures of the inside of the lock? I don’t want to burst your bubble, but something looks “ off” about your pistol.

I don’t think this is the real deal…. Some copies of wheellocks and matchlocks were made for wall decorations in Germany from 1890’s to 1914 for sale to the public. This may be what you have.

I think you may be correct. Can't seem to spin the wheel. But interesting. Old ivory, nice wood. It even came with a winding key. $300 I paid (did I pay too much?). Hangs nice on my wall.

It might have an original barrel on it from something, they used old parts where they could find them cheap. If you are happy with it that’s all that matters.
