I ruined the ramrod on my NIB Pedersoli Springfield 1861.
Anyone have any luck getting factory replacement parts like this from Pedersoli (or another source)?
So far, no response to my inquiry through the Pedersoli website.
I bought the gun from Cabelas mail-order.
I was doing my typical new rifle strip and clean and got a cleaning patch and the ramrod stuck in the bore.
I normally don't use the factory rod but my range and cleaning rods aren't long enough for the 40" barrel on the Springfield.
During the battle to get it unstuck, the rod split at the joint (it's made from two pieces, which I didn't realize until it broke).
I ended up doing some searches here, read about the grease gun method and thankfully it worked.
I'm guessing the rod was damaged during my push/pull/twist/curse attempts and not by the grease method.
TIA
