Pedersoli Bounty is finished

My thanks to everyone for their sage advice while I was putting this hand cannon together.
She is 50 cal with a one in 18 twist, and a 17” barrel.
I put on 12 coats of walnut stain and 6 coats of linseed oil
I did a passable “tune up” on the lock, and added not period correct rear site. Much fun to build. Have not charged, or discharged it yet but I have high hopes

Looks good. You can definitely tell you have a fair amount of linseed oil coats on it. The stocks as shiny as the new brass!

True, true on the stock, I have a satin finish to still apply, but must wait a week or so for the oil to fully cure.

I did a first attempt at turning the lock for a lighter trigger see pix. I polished all bearing surfaces, and tumbler and sear with 2000 grit wet or dry. Action much smoother, and a little lighter trigger pull. There may be more to be had, but I’m happy.

Also an open question. At a one twist in 18 inches, is this Bounty’s rifling too tight for a patch and ball. Or would it make more sense to go with a conical

The Hornady PA conicals shoot pretty good out of my old CVA Mountain Pistol. I don't know the twist on the barrel, pretty fast I'm sure.
You could always push a round ball down the barrel and see how see does.
