Serial numbers are helpful, thanks. If in due course you do remove barrel from stock, then the proof code is much appreciated as it directly feeds into understanding the production timeline.

I'm making it a point to shoot all my P-Hs at least once while it's still warm out , I'll dismount the barrels when I clean them.

I bought a new one in that same time frame, was about $225 or so. Inflation! May have been 250, but definitely not 300.

The 1861 was proofed in 1973 and the 1858 in 1974. Nice serial number on your Pattern 1858!
