What has happened? Almost all day today I've seen no activity here. I've checked 5 or 6 times. Everyone must be winding down from the holidays, taking down decorations etc. Anyway, I reckon I will go on to bed. I hope all of you had a good day and are expecting a good year.
Oh, I did spend several hours fitting a new rear sight to my Colonial. The one Jim puts in the kit is very short/low. I didn't dare file the dovetail of the barrel, but instead filed and checked and filed and checked the base of a taller sight from Track, the one with a peep hole. Not sure I like it, but will try it. Jim's sight is so very low I can't use it in the sunlight due to glare off the barrel when my eye is so close to the top flat. Even with the dull brown finish. Another option will be a taller regular sight.
Anyway, that was my New Year's day.
