here is my latest gun. A 1760's plain rifle inspired by the gun Shumway illustrated in the May 1988 Muzzleblasts. My cheekpiece is nicer though...

Walnut stock, which was a PAIN to finish (remind me to never use walnut again....). .50 cal, 38" bbl. big English lock.

This gun is mine...All this time and I still didn't have a pre-rev rifle for myself...

Very nice! That Walnut stock may have been a pain to finish, but ya did a nice job of it. Really brought out the grain nicely. You should be proud of her. :front:

NICE!! I sure am partial to a rifle without all of the brass and flash...a hunting machine! Beautiful work.

Good luck

Hi Liver just wanted to say thanks for the post you made the other day about how to get your photos up on here. I appreciate it, you did a good job especially considering a dummy like me could understand it.

The file work and shaping of the triggerguard and butt are top notch, crispy flats and channels, not rounded off bulbous muck.
A great job, without a doubt.
