Has a very interesting arrow and apple William Tell inletting in the stock. Also interesting end cap which likely was poured on. The barrel has the name C Taylor written on top. Was probably originally a small caliber squirrel rifle but it has been bored out smooth to .50. There is still a lot of meat on the barrel if you want to shoot it or line it or whatever. The tumbler square is intact but appears to have the screw broken off in it so it will need to be drilled and threaded before you can add a hammer to it. Should be a nice shootable project with a little bit of work. $250 plus shipping.

what's the name carved in the comb of the stock, have you had the gun apart and is the trigger plate stripped from the tang bolt, how's the breech plug look, are they scratches or cracks in the wrist area, also. What is Covington Va. near.

I am not sure what the name carved is. I have not had it apart. The trigger plate is sitting low because the screw towards the butt is loose in the stock. I don't believe the tang screw is stripped or I would have noticed the barrel loose but I will check that tomorrow. I don't know about the breech plug but I should have time to take it apart before work tomorrow and get some pictures. There does look like a crack and some insect at the wrist but I believe it has already been worked on. There is no wiggle to the area at all. Covington is about 25 minutes from White Sulphur Springs West Virginia (Greenbrier Resort) or about an hour north of Roanoke. Maybe 50 mins from Lexington.

It has more wrong with it than I realized. Taking it apart, the barrel lug is broken and the replaced tang was too thin and is cracked. I think that is actually lead in the screw hole to prevent anyone using it until it's fixed. The bore is decent as is the barrel and percussion nipple so if you can weld on a better tang and make a new barrel lug I'll sell it for $150 as a project to be made fireable. I can make a the under lug but don't weld so as I get around to it it will gradually get better.
