Does it have to be a Springfield? I have a Whitneyville contract, but not an actual Springfield

Thanks for the reply! Holding out for a Springfield for now but will keep in mind
Any of the original 1861 contract made rifle muskets are of equal quality to the Springfield or Harpers Ferry production and parts interchange. Of course it what you want is an an actual Springfield made 61 it may take a little longer to find but they are out there.
29th
Are you a member pf the 29th Wis in the N-SSA,??. They are having a skimish on June 5th, and 6th at Appleton Wi. It is a N-SSA/ACWSA skirmish.
Thier are usually guys that have a musket for sale at all skirmises. You might want to check it out if you are not a member.
I am not a member of the 29th, but am a member of the 66th North Carolina in the ACWSA.
Most of the members of the 29th are also in the 66th NC.
I am a past member of the N-SSA also.
